Meat Assistant – Costco Wholesale, Edmonton, AB

Costco Wholesale is hiring a Meat Assistant for our Edmonton warehouse, located at 13650 50th Street. This full-time role offers an opportunity to support Costco’s high standards of quality and food safety in the meat department.

You will be responsible for wrapping, labeling, and stocking meat products, operating equipment, and ensuring the department is clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations.

About the Job

As a Meat Assistant, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment handling meat products, maintaining product quality and freshness, and operating machinery like grinders and wrapping machines.

Your attention to detail ensures that members receive top-quality meat products while adhering to Costco’s strict production and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities for the Meat Assistant

• Wraps and labels meat products using automatic wrapping equipment.
• Operates meat grinders, monitors fat content, and maintains equipment.
• Stocks display cases, rotates inventory, and ensures proper presentation.
• Maintains sanitation standards, cleans work areas, and complies with health codes.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and supports production.
• Provides excellent member service and assists with inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications for the Meat Assistant

Candidates must meet the following:

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety Certification – Level 1 required on the first day.
• Experience: Meat wrapping experience preferred.
• Skills: Ability to handle physical tasks and follow production standards.
