ABOUT THE JOB
The Geotechnical Field Engineer will support mine operations by collecting field data, reviewing ground conditions, and helping maintain safe and effective geotechnical practices. The role involves working with mine planning, operations, and technical teams to monitor slopes, earth structures, and field conditions while supporting engineering recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support geotechnical field programs and monitoring activities within mine operations.
- Collect, review, and interpret field data related to ground conditions and slope performance.
- Assist with inspections, reporting, and geotechnical documentation.
- Work with mine planning, operations, and technical teams to support safe mine development.
- Help identify geotechnical risks and recommend practical mitigation actions.
- Support construction, excavation, and earthworks activities from a geotechnical perspective.
- Ensure work follows site safety standards, engineering practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to mine safety and operational reliability.
