ExxonMobil is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator in Edmonton, Alberta for Tailings Operations at Kearl Oil Sands. This role supports safe and efficient mine operations by operating heavy equipment, performing inspections, and contributing to production and environmental performance targets.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Heavy Equipment Operator will work within Tailings Operations and operate large-scale equipment in an oil sands environment. The role includes operating dozers, performing equipment checks, supporting safe work practices, and working as part of a team in a rotational shift schedule. This position is suited for experienced operators who are comfortable working in an industrial mining environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate heavy equipment safely within Tailings Operations.
- Perform pre-use equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Support safe tailings pond and dump operation activities.
- Follow site procedures, safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Work closely with supervisors, maintenance teams, and other operators.
- Maintain awareness of changing work conditions, weather, and equipment hazards.
- Support productivity, reliability, safety, and environmental performance goals.
- Participate in shift handovers, toolbox meetings, and daily work planning.
