About the Job

As a Cashier Assistant, you will work closely with cashiers to ensure a fast and efficient checkout process. You’ll handle member orders, assist with packing, and retrieve merchandise as needed.

Your role is vital to keeping operations running smoothly while providing exceptional service to Costco members. You’ll also help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front-end area.

Key Responsibilities for the Cashier Assistant

Your tasks will focus on member service, accuracy, and supporting the checkout process.

• Pack member orders into boxes and load them onto a separate cart or flatbed.
• Assist members loading orders into their vehicles when appropriate.
• Retrieve merchandise, supplies, and boxes to support cashiers and reduce wait times.
• Monitor product integrity, checking packaging for tampering.
• Maintain cleanliness around the register area and remove hazards promptly.
• Retrieve carts from the parking area safely and efficiently.
• Operate mechanical trash compactor and cardboard baler.
• Provide friendly and courteous member service throughout the shift.

Minimum Qualifications for the Cashier Assistant

To be successful in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: None required.
• Experience: No prior experience needed.
