Overgoods Agent – FedEx, Mississauga, ON
Location: Mississauga, ON | Company: FeDex
FedEx is hiring two full-time Overgoods Agents in Mississauga, Ontario, to research, classify and manage customer shipments that cannot initially be matched with their intended recipients. The position follows a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This specialized warehouse and inventory role combines package handling, data entry, shipment research and customer-service support. Overgoods Agents help FedEx recover missing shipments by documenting package details accurately, maintaining organized inventory and supporting the process used to return items to customers.
Supporting the Recovery of Unmatched Shipments
The position is based at 6970 Edwards Boulevard in Mississauga. Employees work as part of the Overgoods team and receive training across several warehouse functions, including receiving, sorting, inventory control, shipment research, package matching and outbound shipping.
Because these packages have already become separated from their original delivery information, accurate investigation is essential. The information recorded by Overgoods Agents allows other FedEx departments to compare unidentified shipments with open customer requests and improve the likelihood of returning packages to their owners.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Overgoods Agents complete a combination of warehouse, research and inventory-management duties. Each task contributes to package traceability and helps protect the customer experience when shipment information is missing or incomplete.
Receiving Inventory
Accept incoming unmatched packages and containers, review their condition and direct them into the correct inventory or research process.
Researching Packages
Complete a detailed seven-point inspection and gather information that may help identify the shipment, its contents or its intended recipient.
Documenting Contents
Photograph and record accurate descriptions of packages and their contents so other departments can compare them with customer claims.
Managing Inventory
Track packages and containers throughout the required holding period while maintaining accurate records of their assigned warehouse locations.
Matching Shipments
Review available package information and pull potential matches that may correspond with open requests submitted by customers.
Preparing Outbound Freight
Scan, organize and ship matched or otherwise resolved packages according to established FedEx procedures and destination requirements.
Schedule and Physical Work Requirements
FedEx is recruiting for two regular full-time positions. The published schedule runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes a 30-minute unpaid break. Assigned hours and duties may change according to operational requirements.
The role involves both computer-based documentation and physical warehouse work. Employees must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 pounds and use appropriate equipment to manoeuvre shipments weighing as much as 150 pounds. Warehouse organization, cleanliness and safe package handling are important parts of the position.
