The successful candidate will work closely with the Branch Manager to lead a high-performing team in a busy banking environment. About This Branch Leadership Position
The Assistant Branch Manager will help guide the daily performance and development of RBC advisors. The role involves setting clear expectations, maintaining effective sales routines and coaching employees so they can provide suitable advice, identify referral opportunities and resolve client concerns at the first point of contact whenever possible.
The position also supports the operational effectiveness of the branch. Working alongside the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will help balance business growth, employee engagement, regulatory responsibilities and service quality while building productive relationships with RBC partners and the Abbotsford community.
Key Areas of Responsibility
This role combines people management, sales leadership and branch operations. The Assistant Branch Manager will be expected to motivate the team, monitor results and create an environment where employees can continue developing their financial services capabilities.
Team Coaching
Coach advisors through regular feedback, development conversations and performance routines designed to strengthen capability, confidence and employee engagement.
Sales Leadership
Use structured sales-management practices to help the team identify client needs, generate referrals and contribute to branch business objectives.
Branch Operations
Partner with the Branch Manager to support operational effectiveness, maintain appropriate routines and improve the overall performance of the branch.
Client Experience
Promote strong advice, clear financial education and effective problem resolution so clients receive consistent support across branch and digital channels.
Digital Enablement
Help advisors educate clients about digital banking tools and encourage appropriate use of online, mobile and other available service channels.
Community Relationships
Support local business growth by building relationships with clients, community contacts and internal RBC partners who can contribute to branch objectives.
Experience and Licensing Requirements
RBC requires at least two years of experience in a people-management or coaching position within the financial industry. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of operational effectiveness and a demonstrated history of supporting business growth and developing client or community relationships.
Applicants must have at least two years of licensed mutual fund sales experience within the previous three years and hold a recognized mutual funds accreditation, such as IFIC or the Canadian Securities Course. Candidates must also have completed an acceptable mutual fund branch-management examination offered by the Canadian Securities Institute or be prepared to complete it within four months of starting the role.

Experience across both personal and business banking is considered an asset, as is a post-secondary diploma or degree in commerce, business administration or a related discipline.
