Supporting Daily Store Leadership
The Team Leader works as part of the store management team and provides operational support to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. Daily work may involve assigning responsibilities, supervising associates and making sure important store routines are completed correctly.
When senior store managers are unavailable, the Team Leader may act as the Manager on Duty. This includes coordinating the sales floor, responding to customer concerns, supporting cash procedures and ensuring employees follow established safety, attendance and break requirements.
Key Areas of Responsibility
This position combines hands-on retail duties with leadership responsibilities. Team Leaders are expected to participate in store operations while providing guidance and practical support to other employees.
Team Supervision
Provide direction and support to store associates, assign daily tasks and help employees understand current operational priorities.
Merchandise Replenishment
Support shelf stocking, unpack incoming merchandise and help ensure popular products remain available and properly displayed.
Customer Service
Help maintain appropriate service standards and respond professionally to customer questions, complaints or store-related concerns.
Store Presentation
Implement visual merchandising expectations and help keep aisles, displays and product areas organized, clean and customer-ready.
Opening and Closing
Assist with store opening, closing and cash management procedures when required by the store’s operational schedule.
Inventory and Training
Participate in inventory activities and support the training and performance development of store employees.
Candidate Requirements
Dollarama is seeking applicants with at least one year of experience in the retail industry and a minimum of one year of team management experience. Candidates should be able to organize their time, manage competing priorities and communicate clearly with both employees and customers.
Open availability is required, including the ability to work daytime, evening and weekend shifts. The final work schedule will be determined according to the operational needs of the Charlottetown store.
