Microsoft is hiring a Principal Product Manager for its Azure Data engineering organization in Vancouver, British Columbia. This full-time individual contributor role focuses on defining the vision, strategy and roadmap for next-generation data integration experiences across Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data services.
The successful candidate will work with customers, partners, engineering, design, research and business teams to identify opportunities and deliver AI-first solutions that help organizations connect, move, transform and prepare data for analytics, real-time intelligence and artificial intelligence scenarios.
About This Principal Product Manager Role
Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team develops technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid and Power BI.
As part of the Data Integration team, the Principal Product Manager will help shape how customers manage data across their entire data estate. The position combines product strategy, customer research, competitive analysis and cross-functional execution to create data integration capabilities for the age of AI.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Principal Product Manager will lead important product strategy and execution initiatives while collaborating across Microsoft’s engineering, design, research and business organizations.
Product Vision and Strategy
Define the vision, strategy and roadmap for data integration capabilities and experiences across Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data services.
Customer and Market Analysis
Analyze customer feedback, market trends, competitive insights and business opportunities to identify investments that create customer and business value.
AI-First Product Innovation
Partner with engineering, design, research and business stakeholders to deliver secure, accessible and customer-focused AI-first product experiences.
Feature Prioritization
Drive product development and execution while balancing customer needs, business objectives and technical considerations.
Product Performance
Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure product success and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Launch and Adoption
Work with marketing and engineering teams to support product launches, customer adoption and go-to-market strategies.
Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Integration
The role contributes to technologies that allow customers to connect, move, transform and prepare data across different environments. These capabilities support analytics, real-time intelligence and emerging AI workloads across Microsoft’s cloud data platform.
The Principal Product Manager will also build relationships with customers, partners and the broader technology community to gather insights and influence product direction. These conversations help Microsoft identify complex customer problems and prioritize product investments with the greatest potential impact.

Qualifications, Work Model and Compensation
Microsoft requires a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of experience in product, service or program management or software development, or equivalent professional experience. Preferred qualifications include at least twelve years of relevant experience, four or more years taking a product or feature to market and substantial experience improving product metrics and competing in established markets.
The position is full time and follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week in the office. Travel is expected to be less than 25%. Microsoft lists a typical Canadian base salary range of $142,400 to $257,500 CAD per year for this Product Management IC5 position.
