RBC is hiring a Portfolio Management Assistant in Vancouver, British Columbia. This full-time wealth management position supports an Investment Counsellor or Portfolio Manager with client documentation, meeting preparation, investment policy updates and day-to-day client service.

Supporting Portfolio Management and Client Relationships
The Portfolio Management Assistant helps keep client accounts, planning activities and advisory meetings organized. A key part of the role involves tracking and drafting Investment Policy Statements for new and existing clients, preparing supporting documentation and ensuring that important updates are recorded accurately.
The successful candidate will also respond to general client enquiries, prepare presentation materials and support wealth planning meetings covering areas such as financial planning, insurance and estate planning. The position requires a high level of attention to detail because the information prepared may support important investment and client service decisions.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The position combines client support, portfolio administration, meeting coordination and assistance with business development activities.
Client Service
Respond to general client enquiries promptly and update internal systems with information, requests and tasks requiring follow-up.
Meeting Preparation
Prepare materials in advance of client meetings, organize relevant documentation and attend selected meetings when required.
Investment Policy Statements
Track anniversary dates and draft new or updated Investment Policy Statements and related investment policy letters.
Wealth Planning Coordination
Arrange and prepare for financial planning, insurance and estate planning sessions involving clients and advisory professionals.
Business Development Support
Assist with prospect presentations, marketing materials and documentation used to support relationship-building activities.
Administrative Assistance
Provide additional administrative support to the Investment Counsellor, Portfolio Manager and broader team as operational needs arise.
Education and Professional Requirements
Applicants must have a university degree and must have successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course or an equivalent qualification. RBC also requires at least two years of experience in a support position within the financial services industry, together with previous financial planning experience.
Candidates should have advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong business writing and communication abilities are essential because the role involves preparing client-facing materials, policy documents, presentations and professional correspondence.

Compensation, Development and Work Environment
The expected annual salary range for this position is $55,000 to $85,000 CAD. The actual salary may depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, market conditions and business needs. RBC also states that the position may be eligible for a discretionary or variable incentive payment.
