Physical and Workplace Conditions
This position involves continuous physical activity during shifts lasting approximately three to five hours. Employees should be prepared to lift and carry packages weighing between 5 and 50 pounds while also completing repeated pushing, pulling, bending and placement tasks.
The facility may be loud, and working temperatures can vary between hot and cold conditions. Travel is not normally required. Package Handlers should be comfortable remaining active throughout the shift and following safety instructions while working near conveyor systems, trailers and freight-handling equipment.

Some Package Handlers may later receive specialized assignments such as Package Handler Trainer or Package Handler – Air. These duties require additional instruction and may involve training colleagues, inspecting air-restricted shipments or completing regulated air-cargo certification. Six months of previous FedEx package-handling experience is preferred for these specialized assignments.
