The analyst will contribute to regulatory reporting initiatives, systems implementation and process improvement while also helping introduce artificial intelligence capabilities into Corporate Treasury applications and workflows.

About the Business Systems Analyst Role

This position supports medium- to large-scale technology initiatives connected to Corporate Treasury and regulatory capital measurement. The work involves understanding business requirements, financial product data and system dependencies so project teams can design and deliver solutions that meet internal and regulatory needs.

The analyst will also support initiatives related to regulatory reporting requirements, OSFI assurance work and other Finance and Risk Operations priorities. The role combines traditional business systems analysis with data investigation, project coordination and emerging AI capabilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The Business Systems Analyst acts as a link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping translate operational and regulatory needs into clear system and data requirements.

Requirements Analysis

Gather, analyze and document business requirements, business rules and data sources for technology and regulatory initiatives.

Data Flow Analysis

Review product attributes, system data flows and source information while identifying gaps that may affect project delivery or reporting accuracy.

Testing and Implementation

Communicate requirements to development and QA teams, support testing activities, coordinate user acceptance testing and assist with production implementation.

Experience and Technical Requirements

RBC requires an undergraduate degree or higher, preferably in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance. Candidates should have five to seven years of banking industry experience involving medium- or large-scale systems implementation, system integration or systems re-engineering projects.

The role also requires experience with SQL, data sourcing and mappings across major capital markets products, along with knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methods. Hands-on experience with AI tools, APIs and frameworks is required, together with an understanding of areas such as prompt design, vector databases or agent-based systems.
