About This Automotive Parts Advisor Role
The Automotive Parts Advisor, also referred to as a PartsPro, helps customers find suitable automotive parts and solutions based on their vehicle and repair needs. The position requires a foundational understanding of automotive systems together with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The role also supports the overall operation of the store by completing assigned tasks, maintaining merchandising standards and following company policies related to safety, transactions and customer service.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The position combines automotive parts identification, sales, customer service and general store operations. The successful candidate will help customers make informed purchasing decisions while supporting store accuracy and presentation.
Parts Identification
Use the PartSource Operating System and external vendor platforms to identify the correct automotive parts for customer needs.
Automotive Sales
Recommend suitable automotive solutions and help customers select appropriate parts based on vehicle requirements and intended use.
Product Education
Explain product features, benefits and warranty information clearly so customers can make informed purchasing decisions.
Transaction Processing
Use point-of-sale and computer systems to process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Store Standards
Complete assigned tasks and maintain proper merchandise placement, store appearance and merchandising standards.
Safety and Communication
Follow required PPE and workplace safety procedures and communicate customer or employee concerns to store management when needed.
Automotive Knowledge and Customer Support
The Automotive Parts Advisor should have a genuine interest in automobiles and a basic understanding of automotive parts and systems. This knowledge helps the employee use parts lookup tools more effectively and communicate suitable options to customers.
