Courier/Handler-2 – FedEx, Windsor, ON
Location: Windsor, ON | Company: FeDex
FedEx is hiring a part-time Courier/Handler-2 in Windsor, Ontario, to support package delivery, shipment pick-up, aircraft and vehicle loading, parcel sorting and customer service operations.
This regular position is based at 3480 Wheelton Drive and includes cross-border driving responsibilities. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s licence, maintain a suitable driving record and have both a FAST Card and passport before beginning the role.
Courier and Package Handling Operations in Windsor
This Courier/Handler position combines driving responsibilities with hands-on shipment processing. Employees may load and unload aircraft and delivery vehicles, sort packages, inspect shipments and complete scheduled deliveries and customer pick-ups throughout the assigned service area.
The role also supports cross-border transportation activities. Careful attention to shipping documentation, package condition and FedEx service requirements helps ensure that customer shipments are processed accurately before entering the transportation network or crossing an international border.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Daily assignments may involve a combination of station-based package handling, local or cross-border driving and direct interaction with customers. The principal responsibilities include the following operational areas:
Package Delivery and Pick-Up
Complete assigned customer deliveries and shipment collections while following route instructions, service procedures and transportation requirements.
Aircraft and Vehicle Loading
Load and unload packages from aircraft and delivery vehicles carefully to support efficient shipment transfers and protect parcels from unnecessary damage.
Parcel Sorting
Sort packages according to destination, service type and operational instructions so shipments can move through the FedEx network accurately.
Shipment Verification
Check packages and documentation for compliance with applicable FedEx service features before shipments continue through the transportation process.
Cross-Border Driving
Support transportation assignments involving travel across the Canada–United States border while complying with licence, identification and regulatory requirements.
Customer Service
Communicate professionally with customers during deliveries and pick-ups and provide appropriate assistance with routine shipment-related questions.
Licensing, Documentation and Physical Requirements
Applicants must have a high school diploma or an educational equivalent, a valid driver’s licence and a good driving record. Because driving is a core part of the position, candidates must provide a driver’s abstract showing no more than two violations or accidents during the 24 months before applying.
The position includes cross-border driving duties, so a valid FAST Card and passport are required. Employees must also participate in a random alcohol and drug testing program that follows applicable United States transportation requirements.
Skills That May Help Candidates Succeed
This position requires candidates to manage deliveries, package handling and customer interactions while adapting to changing schedules and operational pressure. The following skills may support reliable performance:
Responsible vehicle operation and awareness of road conditions are essential when completing local and cross-border transportation assignments.
Professional communication and a respectful approach help create a positive experience during shipment deliveries and customer pick-ups.
Planning tasks and managing delivery deadlines can help employees complete assigned routes and station duties efficiently.
Maintaining orderly packages, route information and shipping documents supports shipment accuracy and reduces avoidable delays.
The ability to manage different schedules, holidays, changing workloads and high-pressure situations is important in transportation operations.
Schedule, Training and Workplace Expectations
This is a regular part-time position with a rotating three-week schedule. Week one is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., week two from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and week three from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Hours may change according to business requirements.
Employees must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 pounds and manoeuvre shipments weighing up to 150 pounds with appropriate equipment. Candidates must also meet the minimum threshold on required pre-placement driver assessments, complete mandatory training and maintain recurring accreditations when applicable.
