Goldman Sachs is hiring a GenAI Search and Document Management Vice President in Toronto, Ontario. This senior software engineering role focuses on building and deploying Generative AI solutions for document digitization, information retrieval and developer productivity across the firm.

About This Generative AI Engineering Role
Goldman Sachs is investing in Generative AI to make greater use of its proprietary content, analytics and research. The GenAI and DocAI organization develops technologies designed to improve document processing, information retrieval, developer productivity and AI-enabled business workflows.
In this Vice President role, the successful candidate will help develop Goldman Sachs’ AI capabilities while addressing the technical challenges associated with deploying Generative AI systems within the financial industry.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The position combines Generative AI research, software engineering, cloud-native development and technical leadership across complex enterprise AI initiatives.
Document AI
Collaborate with engineering teams to build AI-enabled platforms supporting document digitization and intelligent information processing.
Generative AI Systems
Conceptualize, experiment with and evaluate AI-based software systems designed for financial and enterprise use cases.
Production Software
Develop, test and maintain high-quality production-ready software supporting Generative AI applications and services.
Technical Leadership
Lead cross-team technical initiatives and help coordinate complex projects involving multiple engineering and business stakeholders.
Cloud-Native Development

Developer Productivity

Generative AI, RAG and Document Intelligence

Who We’re Looking For
This opportunity may suit an experienced AI engineer, research engineer or quantitative software developer with advanced academic training and strong production software development experience.
Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or equivalent relevant industry experience.
At least five years of relevant industry experience demonstrating strong technical and engineering expertise.
Extensive software development experience supporting quantitative investment workflows across equities, fixed income or multi-asset strategies.
Strong proficiency in contemporary programming languages such as Python, C++ or Java.
Experience building and evaluating modern AI or machine learning systems, ideally including Generative AI and information retrieval technologies.
