Microsoft is hiring a Dynamics 365 Sales & Service Solution Engineer for a full-time position in the Greater Toronto area of Ontario. This customer-facing pre-sales role focuses on designing Dynamics 365 solutions, delivering industry-aligned demonstrations and helping customers understand the business value of Microsoft Business Applications.
The successful candidate will work closely with Solution Specialists, Customer Success teams, partners and engineering to advance qualified opportunities, support solution design and help customers move from business challenges to clear technical and commercial proposals.
About This Dynamics 365 Solution Engineering Role
The Dynamics 365 Sales & Service Solution Engineer acts as a pre-sales consultant within Microsoft’s technology sales organization. The role combines technical knowledge, solution architecture, customer discovery and business value selling to help customers evaluate Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related cloud capabilities.
The position also requires close coordination with account teams, partners and Customer Success teams. The Solution Engineer helps shape solution strategies, respond to technical proof requirements and secure customer endorsement of the proposed solution design.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The role combines technical pre-sales, customer discovery, solution design and cross-functional deal support. The successful candidate will help move opportunities from early qualification through technical validation and proposal development.
Solution Demonstrations
Deliver compelling, customer-focused demonstrations that show how Dynamics 365 can address specific business and technical requirements.
Discovery & Envisioning
Lead discovery sessions and help identify customer challenges, win themes and business priorities that can be addressed through Microsoft solutions.
Solution Architecture
Address architecture considerations, technical proof requirements and competitive objections while helping customers understand the proposed solution design.
Pipeline Advancement
Support qualified opportunities by helping Solution Specialists develop strategies, engage decision-makers and move deals toward customer endorsement.
Partner Collaboration
Work with implementation partners, Customer Success and engineering teams to align deployment plans, technical considerations and key performance indicators.
Proposal Support
Assist with formal customer proposals, licensing discussions and final solution positioning after technical and business requirements are validated.
Dynamics 365, Cloud and Business Applications
The Solution Engineer is expected to have strong knowledge of business application solutions and Microsoft’s commercial cloud platform. Experience with Dynamics 365, cloud and hybrid architectures, SaaS environments and related enterprise technologies can help candidates succeed in the role.
The position also requires the ability to connect technology to customer-facing business processes across industries such as financial services, manufacturing, automotive, oil and gas, utilities, retail, healthcare, public sector and media.

Qualifications, Work Model and Compensation
Microsoft requires either a master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field with at least three years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience; a bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience; five or more years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience; or equivalent professional experience.
The position is full time and follows a hybrid work model requiring two days per week in the office. Travel is expected to range between 25% and 50%. Microsoft lists a typical Canadian base salary range of $96,000 to $177,600 CAD per year for this Solution Engineering IC4 position.
