Sport Chek is hiring a full-time Back of House Lead in Nepean, Ontario. This retail operations role focuses on inventory accuracy, merchandise flow, stockroom organization and supporting team members with the daily execution of back-of-house and store standards.
The successful candidate will oversee inbound and outbound inventory processing, replenishment, eCommerce order fulfillment and inventory integrity while also helping part-time employees complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
About This Back of House Lead Position
The Back of House Lead is responsible for helping ensure products move accurately through receiving, storage, replenishment and the sales floor. The role requires strong organization and attention to detail because inventory records, product pricing and stockroom standards all affect the customer experience and store performance.
This position also includes leadership responsibilities. The Back of House Lead supports the management team by helping guide part-time employees, organize daily priorities and maintain consistent operational standards across the department and store.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The role combines inventory processing, employee support, eCommerce fulfillment and general store operations. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate and efficient merchandise movement.
Inventory Receiving
Scan incoming shipments and transfers, maintain shipping logs and file required documentation according to audit requirements.
Team Leadership
Support store management by providing direction and leadership to part-time employees as they complete assigned tasks and maintain store standards.
eCommerce Fulfillment
Process in-store online orders and complete courier transactions in accordance with company procedures and fulfillment requirements.
Inventory Integrity
Complete transfers, consolidations and debits while maintaining accurate inventory records and organized stockroom locations.
Replenishment
Help move merchandise from the backroom to the sales floor and ensure products remain available, organized and appropriately priced.
Store Maintenance
Support seasonal changeovers, fixture maintenance, floor layouts, restocking, pricing updates and signing changes throughout the store.
Inventory and Merchandise Operations
The Back of House Lead will act as an operational resource for merchandise movement. This includes helping ensure shipments, transfers and replenishment activity are completed accurately while maintaining organized stockrooms and reliable inventory records.
The role also requires the ability to create and manage a daily plan for the department and store. Candidates should be comfortable adjusting priorities as shipments, customer orders and other operational requirements change throughout the day.

Experience, Compensation and Benefits
Sport Chek requires at least six months of previous retail experience and previous experience training or mentoring employees. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to organize daily department activities. Computer literacy is considered an asset, and applicants should have a high school education or currently be enrolled in high school.
Sport Chek lists a typical hiring range of $18.60 to $22.00 CAD per hour.
