Costco is hiring a Meat Assistant in Laval, QC. This role supports the Meat Department by wrapping, labeling, and preparing meat products for sale while maintaining product quality, food safety, and sanitation standards.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Assistant at Costco in Laval, you will help prepare meat products for members by operating wrapping equipment, stocking display cases, and keeping the department organized and compliant with food safety requirements. You may also assist with basic equipment tasks such as using a meat grinder under department procedures. This position is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and strong safety and sanitation habits. For Quebec locations, candidates may need to communicate in French (oral and written).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using wrapping equipment and follow department procedures.
- Stock and maintain meat display cases and ensure products are properly presented.
- Place and move products using racks and carts; handle packaged items and supplies safely.
- Set labels according to product type and price, and apply labels to packaged meat products.
- Assist with department clean-up duties, including removing debris and maintaining a sanitary work area.
- Perform sanitation tasks throughout the day and help maintain proper product temperatures.
- Assist with basic equipment operation (such as a meat grinder) following safety guidelines.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and support other warehouse areas when needed.
