RBC is hiring a Senior HR Business Process Analyst, Payroll Modernization in Toronto, Ontario. This full-time position supports the analysis, design and improvement of human resources and payroll processes as part of a broader modernization and transformation program.

The role is suited to an experienced business process professional who can document complex workflows, gather stakeholder requirements and identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement. The position is based at 20 King Street West and is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week.

Supporting Payroll and HR Transformation

The Senior HR Business Process Analyst will help RBC review how payroll and related HR activities are currently completed and determine where processes can be simplified, automated or redesigned. The work involves examining operational workflows, identifying root causes of inefficiency and translating business needs into clear documentation and practical recommendations.

This position also supports the design of future processes in collaboration with senior team members, Technology and Digital Solutions partners, and other subject matter experts. The successful candidate will need to balance detailed analysis with the broader objectives of the payroll modernization program.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The role combines business analysis, process documentation, stakeholder facilitation, performance measurement and transformation support.

Process Documentation

Create and maintain flowcharts, standard operating procedures, business requirements, testing plans, business cases and project reporting.

Workflow Analysis

Review HR and payroll processes to identify root causes, operational gaps and opportunities for optimization or automation.

Requirements Gathering

Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business needs and process challenges.

Future-State Design

Support the development of improved processes while working with senior team members and technology partners.

Experience and Technical Requirements

Candidates must be proficient in business process design, requirements gathering methodologies and the tools used to document operational workflows. Previous experience supporting a payroll conversion, modernization or transformation program is required.

The position also requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced attention to detail and excellent communication and presentation skills. Candidates should be comfortable using data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and explain the operational story behind the results.
