Pharmacist – Costco Wholesale, Mississauga, ON

About the Job

As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for dispensing prescriptions, consulting patients, and adapting or modifying medications as permitted. You’ll also conduct health and wellness clinics and medication therapy management, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations.

Key Responsibilities for the Pharmacist

Your tasks will focus on tire installation, vehicle handling, and member service:

  • Dispenses medications, applies correct labels, and ensures therapeutic appropriateness.
  • Educates patients on proper medication use, interactions, and side effects.
  • Conducts full medication reviews and therapy management where permitted.
  • Collaborates with healthcare providers to resolve drug-related issues.
  • Adapts and modifies prescriptions, performs injections, and orders lab tests as permitted.
  • Supervises pharmacy interns and students and acts as Pharmacist-in-Charge when needed.
  • Participates in a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications for the Pharmacist

Candidates must meet the following:

  • Education/Training: Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in Ontario.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in patient care, computer use, math, and member service.

Preferred Qualifications for the Pharmacist

Additional qualifications that will help you excel:

  • Experience conducting health and wellness clinics.
  • Knowledge of medication therapy management and prescription adaptation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
