FedEx Supply Chain Canada is hiring a full-time Electrician in Calgary, Alberta, to maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems within a high-speed distribution centre.
This overnight maintenance position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The role supports automated conveyor systems, building infrastructure and material handling equipment while helping maintain safe, reliable and efficient warehouse operations.
Maintaining Automated Distribution Systems
The Electrician supports the technical infrastructure that keeps FedEx Supply Chain operations moving. The Calgary distribution centre uses high-speed automated conveyor and carton-sorting systems, making preventive maintenance and timely repairs essential to maintaining consistent warehouse performance.
The position combines electrical troubleshooting, mechanical maintenance, documentation and equipment inspection. Employees may work on conveyors, industrial electrical systems, mobile equipment and base-building infrastructure while responding to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Daily responsibilities focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and building systems throughout the distribution facility.
Electrical Troubleshooting
Diagnose electrical faults using schematics, panel layouts, technical manuals and appropriate testing procedures.
Conveyor Maintenance
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated conveyor and carton-sorting systems used throughout the facility.
Equipment Inspections
Inspect machinery and facility equipment to identify irregularities, malfunctions and potential maintenance concerns.
Preventive Maintenance
Complete scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems and base-building infrastructure.
Maintenance Documentation
Maintain accurate CMMS and preventive-maintenance records to support equipment history, planning and compliance.
Repair Support
Assist Millwrights with breakdown repairs, maintenance activities and other material-handling equipment work as required.
Trade Certification and Experience
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent together with at least four years of experience performing mechanical or electrical maintenance in a manufacturing, packaging or similar industrial environment. An equivalent combination of vocational education and practical experience may also be considered.
An Electrician Journeyman tradesperson certification is required. An Interprovincial Red Seal or dual-ticket Electrician/Millwright qualification is also relevant to the position. Candidates should have practical knowledge of electrical distribution, industrial electronics and automated material handling systems.

Schedule, Pay and Physical Requirements
This is a full-time overnight position scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. FedEx lists a base rate of $42.80 CAD per hour plus $1.00 per hour in shift pay. The published pay range is $42.80 to $43.15 CAD per hour.
Candidates must be able to work at heights of up to approximately 15 metres and may occasionally be asked to work different shifts. The role also requires the ability to sit, stand or walk during the shift, perform physical tasks through a full range of motion and lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
