RBC is hiring a Financial Planning Analyst for a full-time position in Vancouver, British Columbia. This Wealth Management opportunity supports the Family Office Services team and focuses on preparing comprehensive financial plans for high-net-worth clients.
The successful candidate will develop tax, retirement and estate planning strategies using RBC’s proprietary financial planning tools. The role combines advanced technical analysis, collaboration with Financial Planning Specialists and ongoing support for professionals serving complex private wealth relationships.
About This Financial Planning Position
The Financial Planning Analyst will act as a primary financial planner within RBC’s centralized Family Office Services offering and may also work in partnership with Financial Planning Specialists. In both cases, the analyst will prepare and maintain detailed Compass financial plans based on each client’s goals, assets, income, tax situation and estate planning priorities.
This is a Retirement and Wealth Planning position rather than a general branch advisory role. The work involves evaluating complex personal and corporate financial information and developing coordinated strategies intended to improve long-term financial outcomes for high-net-worth clients.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The position combines financial plan preparation, technical research, professional collaboration and internal education. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of accuracy while managing several complex planning assignments.
Comprehensive Financial Plans
Prepare detailed personal financial plans covering retirement, taxation, estate planning, cash flow and other wealth management considerations.
Planning Recommendations
Identify strategies and opportunities that may improve a client’s financial position while considering personal goals, corporate interests and long-term priorities.
Compass Plan Development
Create, update and maintain RBC Compass financial plans as client circumstances, financial information and planning assumptions change.
Partner Collaboration
Work closely with Financial Planning Specialists and other Wealth Management professionals to deliver coordinated and technically sound advice.
Professional Training
Provide coaching and training to Family Office Services professionals on planning concepts, standards, processes and available analytical tools.
Service Development
Contribute ideas and participate in projects intended to improve financial planning services, internal processes and the overall client experience.
Tax, Retirement and Estate Planning
The Financial Planning Analyst will work with advanced Canadian personal and corporate tax concepts when evaluating client strategies. This may include reviewing income, assets, ownership structures, retirement needs and estate objectives before preparing recommendations for consideration by the client-facing team.
The role also requires current knowledge of financial planning standards and professional practices. Candidates should be comfortable researching technical issues, updating planning assumptions and adapting recommendations when legislation, client circumstances or financial priorities change.

Qualifications, Compensation and Workplace Details
RBC requires an undergraduate diploma in a related field, preferably Finance or Wealth Management, together with a Certified Financial Planner or Financial Planner designation. Candidates should have approximately five years of financial planning experience, preferably within Wealth Management.
Knowledge of the Conquest financial planning application, an accounting designation and bilingual English and French proficiency are considered assets. The expected salary range is $55,000 to $90,000 CAD, depending on experience, skills, registration status, market conditions and business needs. The position is based at 1055 West Georgia Street in Vancouver and follows a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
