RBC is hiring an Associate Director, Trade Data Analyst for a full-time position in Toronto, Ontario. This senior Capital Markets data role focuses on trade reconciliation, pricing validation and the delivery of trusted, governed and AI-ready data capabilities.
The successful candidate will define data strategy, lead enterprise transformation initiatives and work across front-office, operations, technology, risk, finance and compliance teams. The position combines deep Capital Markets knowledge with data governance, cloud platforms, product development and executive stakeholder management.
About This Trade Data Leadership Role
The Associate Director will work within RBC Capital Markets Data Strategy and Execution. The role is responsible for improving the quality, control and usability of trade and pricing data while reducing manual processes and helping teams access more reliable information.
The successful candidate will define a target-state architecture and roadmap for modern data capabilities. This includes identifying priority data products, establishing delivery plans and ensuring that investments produce measurable value for business and control functions.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The position combines data strategy, transformation leadership and technical product development. Responsibilities extend across the trade data lifecycle and require close coordination with global business and technology stakeholders.
Trade Data Strategy
Develop a domain strategy aligned with RBC Capital Markets objectives and define the data capabilities required to support reconciliation, pricing validation and business decision-making.
Target-State Architecture
Define the future-state architecture and delivery roadmap for governed trade data, reusable data products and application programming interfaces.
Data Quality and Controls
Strengthen data quality, governance, lineage and control practices so that trade and pricing information can be trusted across business, risk and regulatory processes.
Transformation Delivery
Lead enterprise-scale initiatives that modernize data capabilities, reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency across Capital Markets.
Performance Measurement
Establish KPIs and value-realization metrics covering data quality, roadmap delivery, stakeholder satisfaction, process improvements and measurable business outcomes.
Executive Stakeholder Management
Communicate strategy, progress, risks and investment priorities to senior leaders while maintaining alignment across business and technology functions.
Cloud, AI and Reusable Data Products
The Associate Director will promote the use of cloud platforms, automation and artificial intelligence across RBC’s Capital Markets data environment. The objective is to create governed data capabilities that can support analytics, controls, operational processes and future AI use cases.
The role also involves developing reusable data products and APIs that can serve multiple teams. Experience with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake and Collibra is preferred, together with knowledge of SQL, Python, data modelling, metadata, lineage and API integration.

This position requires a combination of Capital Markets expertise, technical data knowledge and organizational leadership. Candidates should be able to translate complex data challenges into practical strategies and explain their business value to executive audiences.
Deep understanding of trade, pricing, securities, risk and operational data used across Capital Markets businesses and control functions.
Experience defining data architecture, governance, engineering or product strategies within a large and regulated financial institution.
The ability to present complex transformation, data and technology topics clearly to senior management and executive stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead global teams and influence front-office, operations, risk, finance, compliance, architecture and technology partners.
Knowledge of SQL, Python, cloud data platforms, data modelling, metadata, lineage and API integration within enterprise environments.
Qualifications, Compensation and Workplace Details
RBC requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field and at least ten years of relevant Capital Markets experience. Candidates should demonstrate previous responsibility for enterprise-scale transformation and proven leadership in data strategy, governance or engineering.
A graduate degree and experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Collibra, cloud platforms or AI-enabled data management are preferred. The expected salary range for the Toronto location is $110,000 to $140,000 CAD. The role may also be eligible for discretionary variable compensation based on business and individual performance. The position is full time and follows a 37.5-hour work week.
