About This Securities Settlements Leadership Role

The Associate Director will manage a team supporting U.S. dollar settlement activity generated by several Capital Markets businesses. The role focuses on ensuring transactions are processed efficiently, operational issues are escalated appropriately and service commitments are consistently met.

In addition to daily oversight, the position is responsible for developing employee knowledge, improving processes and advising senior leaders on operational, people and technology matters. The successful candidate will also act as a subject matter resource when additional departmental coverage is required.

US Securities Settlement Operations

Candidates should have strong knowledge of U.S. securities settlement processes and clearing depositories. Relevant experience may include equity and fixed-income settlements, transaction matching, exception management, funding requirements and coordination between trading, operations and accounting systems.

The Associate Director must understand the procedures and risks within the department and be able to respond when settlement issues threaten service levels or create financial exposure. Clear escalation, timely decision-making and accurate communication are important when managing operational events.

RBC requires post-secondary education or an equivalent background, together with FINRA Series 99 registration and completion of applicable RBC-mandated learning. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage people and processes and should understand internal trading, operations and accounting systems.

Securities settlement and clearance experience is considered beneficial, together with strong computer skills and operational risk awareness. The position is based at RBC Centre, 155 Wellington Street West in Toronto and follows a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
