About the Role

The Software Developer Manager, Google Ads Remarketing Data Platform will be responsible for leading a team of developers, fostering a positive team culture, and driving technical excellence. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute the technical roadmap for Google Ads remarketing infrastructure. You’ll oversee the rearchitecture of remarketing data life-cycle systems, integrating new technologies to enhance system flexibility and performance.

Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that all development and operational processes adhere to the highest standards of privacy, policy compliance, and performance. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining the reliability and effectiveness of Google Ads remarketing products, ensuring they continue to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of developers, fostering a positive and inclusive culture while growing the team’s presence in Waterloo.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and execute mid-term technical goals and roadmaps for the Google Ads remarketing infrastructure.
• Lead the rearchitecture of remarketing data life-cycle systems, integrating new technologies to enhance system performance and flexibility.
• Ensure development excellence by managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining high standards of code quality.
• Review code developed by other developers, providing feedback to ensure best practices in style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

Google requires the following basic qualifications for the Software Developer Manager, Google Ads Remarketing Data Platform role:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience building and developing distributed systems, data processing, or related infrastructure.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, with at least 2 years in people management or team leadership.
• 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Google prefers candidates who also possess the following qualifications:
