Google is hiring a System Technical Program Manager for the Android XR Glasses Hardware Team in Waterloo, Ontario. This senior hardware program management role focuses on leading the development, validation and launch of next-generation Android XR glasses hardware platforms and systems.

About This Technical Program Manager Role
The System Technical Program Manager will help drive the development of Android XR glasses hardware platforms from early product development through validation and launch. The role combines hardware engineering knowledge, program management and cross-functional leadership across complex consumer electronics programs.
The position sits within Google’s XR organization, which is developing lightweight devices such as smart glasses and headsets that combine extended reality with AI-powered experiences. Drive structured product development processes and phase gate reviews in collaboration with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
Program Planning
Develop and maintain program schedules and resource requirements while coordinating dependencies across development and operations organizations.
Android XR Glasses and Consumer Electronics
The program focuses on hardware systems supporting Google’s Android XR glasses platform. Candidates should understand consumer electronics development and the processes required to move hardware products through prototype builds, engineering validation, manufacturing readiness and production launch.

Who We’re Looking For

At least five years of experience in hardware development program management, team leadership or product design development.
Experience developing consumer electronics hardware and supporting products through structured development and manufacturing processes.
Experience managing New Product Introduction hardware builds and familiarity with Final Assembly, Test and Pack manufacturing operations.
The ability to lead technical teams, operations groups and external vendors against complex product schedules and development plans.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs, program status and recommendations to engineers and executives.
Availability
The position is based in Waterloo, Ontario. Candidates must be able to travel internationally up to 20% as required to support hardware development, manufacturing and program activities.
