The Amazon Tax Platform team builds and operates services that compute taxes across every Amazon business and marketplace. Key Responsibilities for the Software Development Engineer

In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and tax professionals to develop tools and systems that scale with Amazon’s global operations.

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews, contributing to high-level planning and system design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax operations, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with a focus on performance and scalability.
  • Conduct thorough testing and peer code reviews, ensuring software quality and system stability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help maintain a strong engineering culture within the team.

Minimum Qualifications for the Software Development Engineer

Candidates must meet the following basic requirements to be considered for this position.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
