Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Site EHS Manager to join our team in St. Thomas, ON. The focus of this role is to provide a safe, efficient, and healthy working environment for our employees by leading the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) program at the site.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, regional, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. If you are passionate about safety and have a strong background in WHS, this role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity.
In this role, you will partner with the Operations Team to execute WHS policies and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead a team of WHS professionals, providing guidance and development to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees. Your ability to analyze risk, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions will be crucial in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
About the Role
The Site EHS Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Amazon’s Global WHS Program at the site level. This includes providing first aid, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that all site personnel are trained and compliant with WHS standards.
Your role will involve frequent audits, data analysis, and the development of action plans to address any safety deficiencies. You will be a key player in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local, regional, and federal WHS regulations and Amazon policies.
- WHS Audits: Conduct frequent site audits to identify non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Risk Management: Analyze WHS metrics and incident trends to allocate resources and reduce risks.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of WHS professionals, providing guidance and feedback.
- Training & Development: Ensure that all site personnel are trained and knowledgeable about their WHS responsibilities.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to reduce ergonomic and conditional risks, promoting a safe working environment.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and implement departmental goals and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Certified Safety Professional.
- Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS.
- Experience with lean principles and process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. You will be working in a dynamic environment, where you will need to be on-site to conduct audits and lead safety initiatives.
The position involves frequent interaction with site leadership and employees, ensuring that safety standards are met at all times.
