About the Job

As a Pharmacist, you’ll be responsible for dispensing prescriptions, consulting patients, conducting medication reviews, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. Your role ensures the safety and well-being of every Costco member.

You’ll also provide injections, manage prescriptions, and participate in wellness clinics while upholding provincial regulations and Costco Pharmacy procedures.

Key Responsibilities for the Pharmacist

  • Dispenses medications and applies appropriate labels while ensuring therapeutic appropriateness.
  • Educates patients on medications, side effects, and proper use.
  • Conducts medication reviews, reconciliations, and therapy management.
  • Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to resolve medication issues.
  • Performs injections and orders lab tests where regulations permit.
  • Supervises pharmacy interns and students; acts as Pharmacist-in-Charge when needed.
  • Maintains patient records, safety, and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications for the Pharmacist

Candidates must meet the following:

  • Education/Training: Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in Alberta.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Skills: Strong computer, math, patient care, and customer service skills.
