Costco is hiring a licensed Optician to join its optical department in Brampton, Ontario. This role focuses on assisting members with eyewear selection, dispensing optical products, and providing professional optical services in accordance with provincial regulations.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Optician at Costco, you will support members by recommending and dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses, processing optical orders, and ensuring prescriptions are accurately fulfilled. The position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to member service and regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, sunglasses, and contact lenses.
- Process optical orders using computer systems and ensure accuracy of prescriptions.
- Dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses in compliance with provincial regulations.
- Measure and verify optical prescriptions, including pupillary distance.
- Fit and adjust eyewear and assist with contact lens fittings as permitted.
- Inspect finished eyewear to ensure quality and accuracy before dispensing.
- Maintain organized displays, stock optical merchandise, and manage supplies.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and support billing or insurance inquiries.
