Costco is hiring a Maintenance Assistant for its warehouse location in Kitchener, Ontario. This role helps keep the facility clean, safe, and well-maintained by supporting daily janitorial and general upkeep tasks across the site.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant performs routine cleaning and basic maintenance duties to support a safe and efficient work environment. This position includes cleaning floors and work areas, handling waste removal, restocking supplies, and using cleaning equipment according to safety and sanitation standards. The role may also assist with minor facility tasks as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and maintain floors, offices, restrooms, break areas, and other facility spaces.
- Empty trash and recycling and operate compactors when required.
- Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely, following procedures and health codes.
- Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed.
- Perform routine upkeep tasks such as dusting, wiping surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Support basic maintenance tasks and assist other departments when required.
- Follow safety and security policies to help maintain a safe workplace.
