Pharmacy Student – Costco Wholesale, Edmonton, AB

Costco Wholesale is seeking a Pharmacy Student for our Edmonton location at 2616 91st Street NW. This is a unique opportunity for students enrolled in a pharmacy program to gain hands-on experience while supporting Costco’s pharmacy team.

In this full-time role, you will assist pharmacists with drug distribution, health promotion clinics, and medication reviews, all while enhancing your clinical knowledge under supervision.

About the Job

This role provides valuable training and exposure to the daily operations of a high-volume pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Student, you’ll support the pharmacy team with tasks ranging from prescription processing to patient education.

You will develop your clinical and communication skills while working in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering outstanding member care.

Key Responsibilities for the Pharmacy Student

In this role, you will contribute to pharmacy operations, patient care, and clinical initiatives, all while learning from experienced pharmacists.

• Assist with prescription entry, packaging, and drug distribution under pharmacist supervision.
• Handle member calls, direct inquiries, and collect patient information.
• Label and fill prescriptions, maintaining accuracy and safety protocols.
• Support health promotion clinics and help identify patients for medication review services.
• Provide OTC counseling and basic prescription education when permitted.
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and organization, ensuring a safe environment.

Minimum Qualifications for the Pharmacy Student

This opportunity is designed for students currently pursuing a pharmacy degree. You will gain real-world experience while supporting Costco’s pharmacy operations.

• Education/Training: Must be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program.
• Licenses/Certifications: Registered as a pharmacy student with the provincial college.
• Experience: Community pharmacy experience preferred; Kroll software proficiency is an asset.
