ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Clerk Certified at Costco, you will assist pharmacists with daily workflow by supporting prescription preparation and dispensing processes to the extent permitted by provincial regulations. You’ll help members at the counter, process payments, maintain confidentiality, and support inventory and ordering tasks for prescription and over-the-counter products. The role also includes administrative responsibilities such as processing insurance claims, invoices, and maintaining accurate records in computerized systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members at the pharmacy counter, retrieve prescriptions, and handle register transactions including payments and refunds when applicable.
- Answer phones, direct members appropriately, and provide prompt and courteous service.
- Support pharmacists by updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into pharmacy systems as permitted by regulations.
- Assist with prescription filling tasks under pharmacist supervision, including counting, pouring, labeling, pricing, and restocking.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow pharmacy safety and security procedures.
- Prepare and submit third-party insurance claims; process invoices and accounting entries using computerized systems.
- Order, receive, tag, and stock prescription drugs and supplies according to product storage standards.
- Order and stock over-the-counter merchandise in line with department merchandising plans; create product signage when needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and disposing of trash; operate compactors/balers when required.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
