Member Service Assistant – Costco Wholesale, Ottawa, ON

Costco Wholesale is seeking a Member Service Assistant for our Ottawa warehouse located at 1405 Blair Place. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with strong communication and observation skills, dedicated to ensuring member satisfaction and maintaining warehouse safety and security.

In this role, you’ll be the first and last point of contact for members, providing exceptional service while performing safety checks and monitoring warehouse activity.

About the Job

As a Member Service Assistant, you’ll focus on providing a welcoming environment while performing routine safety inspections and monitoring access to the warehouse. This important role helps safeguard both members and employees.

You will also assist members, manage entry and exit flow, and serve as a key player in ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities for the Member Service Assistant

Your daily tasks will involve engaging with members, monitoring the premises, and contributing to a safe shopping experience for everyone.

• Greet members at the entrance, verify membership, and offer carts.
• Perform hourly safety and security checks throughout the warehouse and perimeter.
• Count members entering using a handheld counter and report tallies regularly.
• Monitor access for armored vehicles and sensitive transactions while ensuring security.
• Check receipts at exit, compare to merchandise, and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist members with directions, loading, and other needs to enhance service.
• Drive around the perimeter after hours, observing for suspicious activity and reporting to management.

Minimum Qualifications for the Member Service Assistant

Candidates should meet the following basic qualifications to perform effectively and safely in this role.

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required.
• Experience: None required.
