Meat Assistant – Costco Wholesale, Montreal, QC

Costco Wholesale is hiring a Meat Assistant for our Montréal warehouse located at 1015 Marché Central. This role is perfect for someone with attention to detail and a passion for food preparation and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

As a full-time Meat Assistant, you will handle meat wrapping, labeling, and stocking while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

About the Job

In this role, you will perform essential tasks such as preparing, wrapping, and labeling meat products, maintaining proper product rotation, and assisting with equipment operation and sanitation.

You’ll contribute to the overall quality and presentation of the meat department while ensuring safe and courteous service to members.

Key Responsibilities for the Meat Assistant

Your main duties include meat wrapping, stocking, equipment operation, and sanitation.

• Wraps and labels meat products using automatic wrapping machines.
• Sets up labeling equipment and prints accurate pricing and product information.
• Stocks wrapped meat in display cases, ensuring proper rotation and presentation.
• Operates the meat grinder and verifies fat content for each batch.
• Inspects and reassembles equipment, performing routine maintenance when necessary.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas consistently throughout the day.
• Adheres to safety, health, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Provides courteous service to members and assists with their needs.

Minimum Qualifications for the Meat Assistant

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety Certification – Level 1 required on the first day.
• Experience: Meat wrapping experience preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills: None required, but must be able to communicate fluently in French (oral and written) in Quebec.
