Costco is hiring a Loss Prevention Clerk in Kelowna, BC to help protect company assets and support a safe, secure warehouse environment. This role focuses on monitoring safety and security concerns, preventing theft, completing incident reports, and working closely with management when investigations are required.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Loss Prevention Clerk at Costco, you will patrol the warehouse and perimeter to identify safety and security risks, observe and report suspicious activity, and help prevent internal and external theft. You may be involved in investigations, documenting incidents, maintaining evidence files, and preparing reports for internal use or potential prosecution. When required, you’ll coordinate with local law enforcement and may provide testimony related to investigations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol the warehouse and perimeter to monitor safety and security concerns during the shift.
- Observe, detect, prevent, and respond to potential theft and shoplifting incidents.
- Detain and interview suspects when warranted and in accordance with policy and applicable laws.
- Identify and report internal dishonesty concerns to the Warehouse Manager and Loss Prevention leadership for review.
- Report potential internal theft situations and support management with documentation and follow-up.
- Detect and report shrink reduction opportunities and loss trends to management.
- Prepare detailed reports for internal use and for potential prosecution when applicable.
- Maintain investigation files and evidence records gathered during investigations.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement and provide court testimony when necessary.
- Support training and coaching of warehouse staff on loss prevention policies and best practices.
- Communicate with other Loss Prevention teams to share information on current or local theft threats.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
