Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented Front End Engineer II to join the team responsible for AWS IQ and AWS Marketplace Professional Services. In this role, you will design and build the backend services that power front-end web applications, delivering highly usable and high-performance solutions to customers. You will operate across all levels, diving deep into technical details while contributing to the strategic direction of our products.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other software engineers to develop critical features. You will take full ownership of the quality, deployment, and performance of your code while mentoring junior developers on best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and bring innovative products to market.
- Design and build scalable technologies in a large distributed computing environment.
- Create solutions for running predictions on distributed systems at scale.
- Develop distributed storage, index, and query systems that are fault-tolerant, low-cost, and easy to manage.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
Basic Qualifications
Amazon requires the following basic qualifications for the Front End Engineer II role:
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web, or mobile software development experience using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- 1+ years of experience with computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms).
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
Preferred Qualifications
Amazon prefers candidates who also possess the following qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with agile software development methodology.
- Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
Compensation & Benefits
Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including:
- Base salary between $114,800 to $191,800 CAD annually, depending on experience.
