Cashier Assistant – Costco Wholesale, Vancouver, BC

Costco Wholesale is hiring a Cashier Assistant for our Vancouver warehouse located at 605 Expo Blvd. This full-time role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while supporting the front-end operations and ensuring exceptional member service.

As a Cashier Assistant, you’ll be responsible for packing member orders, retrieving carts, and maintaining a clean and organized register area.

The Cashier Assistant supports smooth checkout operations by working alongside cashiers, handling merchandise, and assisting members throughout the process. You’ll help maintain a clean and safe environment while ensuring members receive prompt and courteous service.

Key Responsibilities for the Cashier Assistant

This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at supporting cashiers, assisting members, and maintaining order at the front end of the warehouse.

• Greet members, assist with loading orders onto the conveyor belt, and answer product-related questions.
• Pack member orders into boxes, load items onto carts or flatbeds, and assist with loading into vehicles when needed.
• Retrieve merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and other items to keep lines moving efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness of the register area and the front end, including spills and trip hazards.
• Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking lot and maintain the lot area free of debris.
• Support the cashier during promotions and perform setup or closing duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications for the Cashier Assistant

This role is suited for candidates with a positive attitude and a willingness to provide excellent service.

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: None required.
• Experience: No prior experience needed.

Preferred Qualifications for the Cashier Assistant

While no prior experience is required, having the following skills will help you succeed and grow in the role.

• Strong communication and member service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
