In this full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a high volume of bakery products according to Costco formulas. This position requires handling industrial-sized ingredient containers and operating large power mixers, ensuring our bakery items meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities for the Baker

Your tasks will focus on producing high-quality bakery items, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

• Ingredient Preparation: Assemble, measure, and combine large quantities of ingredients according to Costco formulas, using calculators to adjust formulas for alternate yields.
• Equipment Operation: Use power equipment to mix and prepare bakery products, such as dough rollers, muffin depositors, and crust machines.
• Baking: Operate power mixers to prepare batter, frosting, and fillings; roll, cut, and shape dough for breads and pastries; monitor ovens and remove baked products to cooling racks at appropriate times.
• Quality Control: Monitor sanitation, temperatures, pull dates, and comply with health codes; follow department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency.
• Member Service: Provide prompt and courteous member service; assist with other bakery duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications for the Baker

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety Certification – Level 1 required on the first day in the position.
• Experience: Previous baking experience required.

Preferred Qualifications for the Baker

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Knowledge/Skills: Strong understanding of bakery operations and equipment.
• Other: Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment; excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
