Associate Solutions Architect – Amazon – Montreal, QC

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Associate Solutions Architect to contribute to building new technologies and promoting the adoption of AWS among customers. In this role, you will collaborate with AWS teams to assist customers in designing scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that meet their business needs. You will also guide organizations in understanding cloud best practices and migrating their workloads to the cloud.

This position is part of the AWS Tech U Program, a career development initiative tailored for individuals aiming to advance their technical and business skills. The program includes a 6-month instructor-led, project-based learning curriculum, followed by a 6-month On-the-Job Training (OJT) assignment. It offers a valuable opportunity for self-starters to gain hands-on experience while delivering meaningful impact to AWS customers of all sizes, making it an ideal launching point for those looking to grow in cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AWS teams to help customers design and implement cloud-based solutions.
• Assist in cloud migration efforts and provide expert guidance on best practices for cloud adoption.
• Participate in the AWS Tech U Program to develop technical and business skills through hands-on learning and training.
• Provide architectural guidance to startups and enterprise customers on building scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.
• Engage with customers to understand their requirements and recommend appropriate AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

Amazon requires the following basic qualifications for the Associate Solutions Architect role:

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, OR equivalent training and experience.
• Experience with at least one programming language: Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++.
• Experience with networking fundamentals, databases (Relational and/or NoSQL), and operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows).
• Fluency in French and English due to the global nature of the role and interaction with teams across Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

Amazon prefers candidates who also possess the following qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions to both large and small audiences.
• Experience implementing cloud-based solutions in academic projects or professional settings.
• Knowledge in one or more domains: Big Data, Analytics, Security, DevOps, Application Development, or Machine Learning.
• A working knowledge of AWS or cloud computing technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
