Imperial is hiring an Integrity Engineer (EIT) for a full-time position in Nanticoke, Ontario. This engineering opportunity supports the refinery’s Product Solutions Department and focuses on maintaining the integrity, reliability and long-term performance of static equipment and piping systems.
The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering support for refinery maintenance activities, equipment reliability initiatives and capital projects. About This Integrity Engineering Role
The Integrity Engineer will work within Imperial’s Maintenance Reliability team, supporting refinery operations by ensuring that fixed equipment and piping systems continue to operate safely, efficiently and in accordance with engineering standards. The position combines technical analysis, maintenance planning, equipment inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
Engineers in this role collaborate with operations, maintenance and project teams to improve equipment reliability, reduce operational risk and implement engineering solutions that comply with industry codes and Imperial engineering standards.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Integrity Engineer will support refinery reliability by maintaining engineering documentation, evaluating equipment condition and participating in maintenance and capital improvement activities.
Engineering Documentation
Prepare and maintain repair standards, technical specifications, engineering drawings and other documentation required to support refinery static equipment and piping systems.
Management of Change
Manage engineering deviations by initiating and supporting the Management of Change process while ensuring modifications comply with company requirements.
Equipment Reliability
Maintain site bad actor programs, optimize pressure safety valve testing intervals and review inspection reports to improve equipment reliability.
Failure Analysis
Lead Root Cause Failure Analyses for fixed equipment and recommend corrective actions that reduce future equipment failures.
Capital Projects
Support engineering design reviews, technical specifications and project activities that improve the long-term integrity of refinery equipment.
Preventive Maintenance
Develop preventive maintenance strategies, participate in turnaround inspections and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across refinery operations.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognized by an accredited institution. Applicants are required to submit their most recent unofficial academic transcript as part of the application process.
Previous experience in a refinery, chemical plant or a closely related industrial environment is considered an asset. Candidates should also demonstrate leadership potential, strong academic performance and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.

Salary, Benefits and Career Development
The expected annual salary for this position ranges from $93,500 to $111,000 CAD, depending on qualifications, experience and education. The role is scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026 and is based full time at Imperial’s Nanticoke refinery.
