Costco is hiring a Baker in Kelowna, BC to support high-volume bakery production in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role focuses on preparing, baking, and finishing bakery items while following Costco formulas, food safety standards, and quality procedures.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Baker at Costco, you will produce a wide range of bakery items by measuring and mixing large batches, operating industrial bakery equipment, and baking products in commercial ovens. You’ll monitor production quality, follow sanitation and temperature controls, and help maintain consistent results across all finished goods. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and a strong commitment to member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, assemble, and mix large quantities of ingredients according to Costco formulas and production standards.
- Operate bakery equipment to prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and frostings.
- Roll, cut, and shape dough for breads and pastries, and transfer products to appropriate proofing/raising areas.
- Bake products in large ovens, monitor bake times, and move finished items to cooling racks at the right time.
- Feed dough into automated dough processing equipment when required.
- Maintain sanitation, temperature checks, and product rotation (pull dates) in line with health and safety requirements.
- Follow department procedures for consistent quality, portioning, and finished product standards.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to Costco members.
- Support other bakery tasks and assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
