ABOUT THE JOB
As a Member Service Assistant at Costco, you will greet members at the entrance, verify membership cards, and help maintain a clean and organized entry/exit area. You will also support safety and security by performing checks throughout the warehouse and perimeter, assisting with member counts, and verifying receipts at the exit. The position may include reporting security concerns to management and helping direct members to services, carts, and departments while delivering excellent member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome members at the entrance, greet with a friendly approach, and verify membership cards.
- Keep entrance and exit areas clean, organized, and ready for high traffic.
- Use a handheld counter to track member entry counts and report counts to the front end as required.
- Conduct warehouse and perimeter safety and security checks; identify issues such as spills, trip hazards, or blocked exits.
- Complete inspection forms, report results to the duty manager, and attend warehouse safety meetings when required.
- Monitor warehouse access points and observe high-value areas or processes as directed by management.
- Assist members with directions, carts, loading help, and locating products or services; help retrieve carts when needed.
- Verify receipts at the exit by checking accuracy and comparing to merchandise; highlight receipts and thank members.
- Observe after-hours exit doors and report door area status; communicate by radio and follow procedures for secure access.
- Support security-related observations in the parking/warehouse perimeter area and report suspicious activity to management.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as necessary.
