As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for frosting, decorating, and personalizing cakes while ensuring product quality and member satisfaction.

The Cake Decorator plays a key role in the bakery team, crafting beautiful and delicious cakes that meet Costco’s standards. You’ll work hands-on with bakery equipment, ingredients, and decorations to create products for daily sales and special orders.

This role combines creativity with precision, ensuring each product is made with attention to detail and consistency.

Key Responsibilities for the Cake Decorator

In this position, you will perform a range of tasks focused on cake preparation, decoration, and member service. Your skills will help maintain the bakery’s reputation for excellence.

• Frost, fill, and garnish cakes using spatulas, pastry bags, and tips.
• Decorate cakes based on member requests and special orders.
• Prepare and slice cakes, cheesecakes, and fruit toppings.
• Operate bakery equipment, including whipping cream machines.
• Assemble and label cake boxes and organize them for sale or storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the decorating area.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to members.

Minimum Qualifications for the Cake Decorator

Candidates for this role should meet basic educational and professional requirements, along with a passion for quality and precision in cake decoration.

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety Certification – Level 1 required on the first day.
• Experience: Prior cake decorating experience preferred.
